Director of Administration

Position Overview

The Director of Administration reports to the Head of School and is responsible for all school operations and administrative processes to support the program and mission of the school. The Director of Operations is also a spokesperson who represents the school on and off campus and acts on behalf of the school by professionally and warmly interacting with all students, parents, teachers, staff, visitors and the community at large.

Overarching Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of School in the implementation and oversight of all school operations in a manner consistent with the Ambleside philosophy.
  • Oversee all of the administrative functions of the school and establishes and trains procedures where needed.
  • Oversee all governance requirements of the board and prepares monthly reports for the board auditing committee.
  • Oversee strategic planning for the advancement of the school’s mission.
  • Focus on the development of non-instructional staff, recognizing administrative staff contributions, making suggestions for growth, and identifying areas of critical concern.
  • Interface effectively and graciously with all school stakeholders (parents, students, board, teachers, staff, vendors, etc) and resolves conflict according to Biblical principles.

Classroom Teacher, Grades 5 - 8

Ambleside School, a Christ-centered, K- 8 school is seeking a dedicated instructor of students from 5th to 8th Grade. Applicants should have an interest in practicing Charlotte Mason’s pedagogy in the classroom, a love for learning, and a desire to invest in nurturing young persons.

A broad knowledge of the liberal arts and background in writing instruction, grammar, science, and the humanities is preferred. Classroom management and administrative skills along with ability to work on a team is important for success. Those interested in only a one-year commitment need not apply.
